ICP Smart Services (2026): Login, Guest Services and How to Check a File, Visa or Fine

October 25, 2026readZETUP Team

How ICP's smart services work: signing in with UAE PASS, the guest services you can use without logging in (Application Tracking, File Validity, Fines Inquiry, Establishment Inquiry), checking a visa's validity or cancellation with a passport number, and ICP vs GDRFA.

ICP smart services is the online portal of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), at smartservices.icp.gov.ae. It handles Emirates ID, residency, visa and fine services. This guide is built from the portal itself and from ICP's service cards on icp.gov.ae, read on 25 October 2026.

How to log in to ICP smart services

Quick answer: sign in with UAE PASS. ICP's fine-payment service card says, under access control, "This service requires you to login using UAE Pass", and the Login link on icp.gov.ae opens the smart-services sign-in page. The same card lists the smart services system (website and mobile app) as available 7/24. Some checks are listed as guest services that work without logging in (below).

If you do not have UAE PASS yet, create an account at uaepass.ae; our UAE PASS guide covers registering, verifying and kiosks. ICP's call centre is 600522222 inside the UAE and +971 600522222 from abroad.

Guest services you can use without logging in

The portal's guest page lists these quick services:

Guest serviceWhat it is for
Application TrackingFollowing an application with the email address used in it and the request number
File ValidityChecking a residency, visa or Emirates ID file by file number or passport details
Fines InquiryListed as a guest service (fines: see below)
Establishment InquiryListed as a guest service
Print Leave Permit ApplicationListed as a guest service

ICP's ID Card Status page sits on icp.gov.ae rather than the portal: it takes the application number (PRAN), or the Emirates ID number for renewal and replacement applications. See our Emirates ID status guide.

How to check a visa's validity or cancellation with a passport number

Use File Validity, which the portal lists as a guest service. Its page template (read on 25 October 2026) offers a search by file number or by passport details, with a file type of residency, visa or Emirates ID. The passport search asks for the passport number, passport expiry date, nationality and date of birth, followed by a verification step, so the passport number alone is not enough. The template's result fields include the file status, the visa validity and file expiry dates, a file cancellation date, days spent inside the UAE and overstay days; which of them appear depends on the file. u.ae describes the validity check as showing the issue and expiry dates.

For a visa issued in Dubai, u.ae points to GDRFA Dubai instead: see our UAE visa status check guide.

What else is on the portal

The portal's menu has four service sections: Public Services, Golden Residency Services, Blue Residency Services and Public Visa Services. Its smart-service guide groups services under headings such as Golden Residency, Blue Residence, Domestic Worker Package, Explore job opportunities, Exploring business opportunities, Tourism, Virtual Work, Fines and Leave Permits, Residents Outside the UAE, Special Visas, GCC Citizens, Reports and Refund.

ICP's site lists these under Online Services: ID card status, new identity card issuance, data update, identity card renewal, issuance of a visa and issuing a residency permit. Their fees are on ICP's service cards; the Emirates ID ones are in our Emirates ID guide.

Fines: check and pay

ICP's Payment of visa or residence violation fine service card lists AED 50 per day for the expiry of the permitted stay or the cancellation or expiry of an entry visa, residence permit, exit permit or newborn registration, plus a AED 100 smart-services fee, and says the service needs a UAE PASS login. On the portal's fine form, as we read it, you identify the person by visa file number or, for citizens of certain countries, by passport details. The Emirates ID guide explains where to check which fine, and our visa fine waiver guide covers asking for one to be waived or reduced.

ICP or GDRFA?

u.ae splits visa tracking by the emirate that issued the visa: Dubai visas go through GDRFA Dubai, while visas issued in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah go through ICP. Our visa status check guide has both routes side by side.

For employers

u.ae's split applies to employee visas too: a Dubai-issued visa is tracked with GDRFA Dubai, one issued in another emirate with ICP. Keeping each employee's file, Emirates ID and work permit in step avoids overstay and late-renewal fines: see our work permit guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I log in to ICP smart services? A: With UAE PASS. ICP's service card for fine payment says the service requires a UAE PASS login, and the Login link on icp.gov.ae opens the smart-services sign-in page. Create a UAE PASS account at uaepass.ae if you do not have one.

Q: Can I use ICP smart services without logging in? A: Yes, for the guest services the portal lists: Application Tracking, File Validity, Fines Inquiry, Establishment Inquiry and Print Leave Permit Application.

Q: How do I check if my UAE visa is cancelled with my passport number? A: Use ICP's File Validity, a guest service on the smart-services portal. Its template offers a search by file number or by passport details (passport number, expiry date, nationality and date of birth, plus a verification step) and result fields that include the file status and a cancellation date. For a Dubai-issued visa, u.ae points to GDRFA Dubai.

Q: How do I track an ICP application? A: With Application Tracking on the smart-services portal, using the email address you applied with and the request number. For an Emirates ID application, ICP's ID Card Status page on icp.gov.ae also takes the application number (PRAN).

Q: What is ICP's phone number? A: 600522222 inside the UAE and +971 600522222 from abroad.

Q: Is ICP the same as GDRFA? A: No. ICP is the federal authority; GDRFA Dubai handles residency for visas issued in Dubai. u.ae sends Dubai visas to GDRFA and visas from the other six emirates to ICP.
