How to use MOHRE's enquiry services: check an application status with a transaction number, look up a work permit, view an approved contract, check unpaid fees and card fines, and file and track a labour complaint — from MOHRE's own portal and service pages.
MOHRE's enquiry services let employers, employees and PROs check a transaction, a work permit, a contract or a company file without visiting a service centre. Most of them sit on one public portal, inquiry.mohre.gov.ae. This guide maps what is on it, what each check asks you to enter, and where to go when a status stalls — read from MOHRE's portal and service pages on 25 October 2026.
How to check your MOHRE application status
Quick answer: open MOHRE's inquiry portal at inquiry.mohre.gov.ae, choose Inquiry Services → Application Status, and enter the Transaction No and the captcha. MOHRE describes the service as one "to track the status of the transactions submitted to the ministry by the customers" (MOHRE: Transactions Inquiry Service). You can also follow up in the MOHRE app or on MOHRE's call centre, 600590000, which its service pages list as available 24/7.
Most checks on the portal key on that same transaction number — the reference of the application submitted to MOHRE — so keep it to hand.
The most-used checks, and what each one asks for

Every form also asks for a captcha.

MOHRE's separate Government Inquiry Service is not for the public: MOHRE describes it as "a service that the ministry provides to the other governmental entities" (MOHRE). Employers and workers use the portal or the app.
How to check your labour contract online
Two MOHRE routes show the contract:
- On the inquiry portal, Work Permit → View Approved Contract has no form of its own: it opens MOHRE's employment offers and contracts site.
- MOHRE's employment offers and contracts site (receipts.mohre.gov.ae) has View my contract, searchable by transaction number or by Emirates ID (EIDA) number. The transaction-number search asks for the passport number, nationality and date of birth, plus a captcha. The same site covers job offers, work permits with and without a job offer, and work-permit renewals.
For what the contract and permit cost and how long they take, see the labour card guide; for what the contract must contain and how MOHRE issues it, see the MOHRE labour contract guide.
How to file and track a MOHRE labour complaint
MOHRE's service Register Labour Complaints – Private Sector Employees is open to employers and employees when one party breaches its contractual obligations:
- Submit through MOHRE's website or app with the employee's passport number, name, date of birth and nationality; employers also enter the establishment or licence number, and the Emirates ID number is mandatory for everyone.
- Confirm with the one-time password sent by SMS or email (not needed in the app).
- MOHRE contacts both parties to settle amicably, with a legal adviser; if that fails, a meeting is scheduled by SMS.
- If a second attempt at settlement fails, the complaint is referred to the competent court — or the work permit may be cancelled as the claim requires.
- The outcome is sent by SMS.
| Item | MOHRE's service page |

MOHRE's Labour Market Observatory also lists a toll-free legal consultation line for labour claims, 80084, and the email ask@mohre.gov.ae — see the MOHRE glossary entry.

When a status is stuck: where employers look
Before calling MOHRE about a stalled transaction, four portal checks are worth running: check Pending Payments (by company number) for unpaid fees, Company Information for the establishment file, Transaction status in federal authority for identity and citizenship for the residency leg, and General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Establishment Link Status (by company number) for the Dubai link. For the visa side — application status and fines at GDRFA — see our GDRFA status and fine check guide. If you are paying salaries late, MOHRE also suspends new work permits five days after the due date — see the WPS guide.
