For private-sector employees under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, gratuity is based on basic salary: 21 days' basic pay for each of the first five years of service, and 30 days' basic pay for each year thereafter. The daily wage is the basic monthly salary divided by 30, and total gratuity is capped at two years' pay.
No. Since Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, resignation and termination pay the same full gratuity — the old reduction (one-third for 1–3 years, two-thirds for 3–5 years) was abolished. You still need at least one completed year of continuous service to be entitled.
