Tawjeeh

Also known as: MOHRE Tawjeeh, Pre-Employment Orientation

Quick Answer

Tawjeeh is MOHRE's mandatory pre-employment orientation and training centre network. New employees in the UAE — particularly blue-collar workers — must complete Tawjeeh-administered orientation before their employment contract is finalised.

Tawjeeh (Arabic for 'orientation' or 'guidance') exists to ensure incoming workers understand UAE labour law, their rights and responsibilities, the standard MOHRE employment contract, the WPS, and basic workplace safety. It's a regulatory compliance step, not an optional training.

Tawjeeh sessions are typically 1–2 hours, delivered in the worker's native language at any of the dozens of MOHRE-authorised centres. Once completed, the worker receives a Tawjeeh certificate, which becomes part of their employment file.

Tawjeeh is most relevant for skill levels 5 (semi-skilled) and below — domestic workers, construction, hospitality. White-collar professionals on standard employment visas usually skip this step.
