Quick Answer
Amer is the GDRFA-authorised service-centre network in Dubai that processes residency, visa, and Emirates ID transactions for sponsors, employees, dependents, and investors.
Amer (the brand of Dubai's GDRFA service centres) is to residency what Tasheel is to labour: it's the front door for almost every transaction involving a residency visa or Emirates ID stamp. Amer centres handle entry permits, residency visa stamping, visa cancellations, dependent visas, status changes, and replacement of lost residency stamps.
Most Amer transactions require an authorised typist to submit on your behalf, and many require fingerprint and medical-fitness steps that have to be coordinated with separate appointment systems. Amer centres operate across Dubai and have varying speeds — choosing the right one for your transaction is part of what experienced PROs do.
Dubai Amer is operated by GDRFA Dubai. Other emirates have their own equivalents under ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security).
