Frequently Asked Questions
A letter from the employer to a bank confirming the employee's job and monthly salary and undertaking to pay that salary into the employee's account at that bank, and not to move it to another bank without the bank's clearance letter. A bank may ask for one before a loan or credit card.
The employer — an authorised signatory of the company, usually HR or a manager — on company letterhead with the company stamp. An employee cannot issue it for themselves.
Many banks supply their own form, and if yours does, use it. This generator produces a standard draft for when the bank accepts the employer's own letter.
A salary certificate only confirms employment and pay. A salary transfer letter adds the employer's undertaking to pay the salary — and the end-of-service dues — into a named bank account.
