What the law requires

Article 13(11) of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 obliges the employer to give the worker, on request when the employment contract ends, an experience certificate without fees, stating:

  • the date work started and the date it ended
  • the entire service term
  • the job title or type of work
  • the last wage the worker received
  • the reason the employment contract ended

It must not include anything that may harm the worker's reputation or limit their chances of new work. The letter carries every one of those fields when you enter the last working day and the reason and keep the salary table on, and it works out the service term from the two dates.
