Dubai South is a free zone regulated by Dubai Aviation City Corporation, so the standard trade-off applies: 100% ownership and airport-side operations inside the zone versus a DET mainland licence's unrestricted access to UAE customers and government contracts. If your business is freight, fulfilment or aviation running through Al Maktoum and Jebel Ali, the zone is the point. If you sell to walk-in UAE customers, go mainland — or run both, with a Dubai South operating base under a mainland sales entity.
